Each medal Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2010 in Vancouver will have a unique design - no two medals with the same engraving. A total of 1,014 unduplicated designers got pictures.
Unlike most of its predecessors, Vancouver Olympic medals are not flat and curved: the creators specifically chose to do so, inspired by the waves of the Pacific, as well as the expanse of snow and the mountain scenery of British Columbia.
